Monday’s glorious snows are melting tonight. Everything a patchwork of ice and bare patches. The only ones happy are drivers along the roads.

So happy to have more bird friends stopping by to take advantage of the winter berries behind our house. It makes the winter less bleak to have them fluttering about.

The cat all curled up and warm
I watch the snow fall

Continuing the tradition of making snow friends to check in on us from the window.

The kid’s school has been cancelled for a second day due to single-digit temperatures. Walking out to get our mail quickly had me agreeing with their decision.

We really miss being able to directly feed our local birds so it’s exciting to see that our trees are up to the task. A group of house finches came by the window while I was admiring the snow.

As much as I love the snow, I’m glad I only have a cat. 😸

Started the day with an appreciative walk in the newly falling snow.

I’ve had my fill of traveling and I’m looking forward to staying in one place for a good while.

Happy New Year everyone!

I’m convinced that Dune’s “spice” is just post apocalyptic coffee.

Florida shines a lovely goodbye as we drive back to the frozen north.

A well and truly spent Christmas Day. Time for a long winters nap.

I don’t agree that winter “starts” on December 21 this year because these aren’t autumn footsteps.

It’s been far too gloomy for my liking lately but these cloud textures made for a beautiful sunset.

Blue sky covered in soft, puffy clouds that fade at their edges

Try as we might, the kid and I couldn’t achieve the majestic look of this poor stuffed bear. Probably because we were laughing too hard.
