Every time a D&D campaign ends, I get a miniature of my character printed and paint them. This campaign was the sequel to an earlier one so I got to dust off the same character and upgrade him. It’s so fun to develop him in new directions.

Both campaigns take place in the frozen north so I used our recent snowfall to photograph him.

Fall may be giving way to winter but there’s still enjoyable ends to a beautiful weekends.

A vibrant sunset with fiery orange and red clouds dominates the sky above silhouetted trees and power lines.

While the systems we took for granted collapse around us, my response has been to go into the world and re-learn art with other artists. It’s humbling to dive into my weaknesses but hope and human connection blossom during the struggles of creating together. Love is in community, not commodity.

Kudos to the clever people at the manufacturing plant who figured out how to make us perceive a specific shade of brown with completely different colored threads. Although the companies that pay for it get to take the credit, we see your cool problem solving.

Reveling in the early autumn weather at the Cranbrook house and gardens.

A long, rectangular reflecting pool is surrounded by lush greenery and landscaped gardens under a cloudy sky.

Cranbrook’s mid-century modern exhibit was full of so many incredibly beautiful things and ideas. Something I especially appreciated was how much attribution and credit the women were given for their pioneering work in the movement. Really inspiring.
