Tech’s obsession with removing friction has outlived its use when “do a thing and get out of the way” is twisted into “use it mindlessly.” Friction can be useful. It should be a little harder to be distracted while I’m eating dinner with family, hanging out with friends, or enjoying hobbies. It’s not about ditching tech, it is about doing a thing on purpose.
