Graveyard in daytime with family in the distance

The weekend was spent honoring a life lost. A time where we capsized against the part of life we all must face and grieved over what we could not change. In that breaking down, however, we also picked each other up and put ourselves back together into something more joyful, honest, and true.

The thing about cultivating gratitude is it doesn’t only come from commemorating or reliving happy times. In my experience, it comes from sitting with your worst moments and practicing how to reframe that ugliness into a lesson you can learn from.

Victoria Song’s article mirrors my own concerns with Apple’s new Journal app. I plan to stick with my current habit and app. Journaling is my time and intensely personal. AI and algorithms have no seat at that table as I’m chasing personal reflection, not features.
