The thing about cultivating gratitude is it doesn’t only come from commemorating or reliving happy times. In my experience, it comes from sitting with your worst moments and practicing how to reframe that ugliness into a lesson you can learn from.
Victoria Song’s article mirrors my own concerns with Apple’s new Journal app. I plan to stick with my current habit and app. Journaling is my time and intensely personal. AI and algorithms have no seat at that table as I’m chasing personal reflection, not features.

Appreciating the dahlias our neighbor has been cultivating. Their floral pattern is mesmerizing.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was pure fun for my daughter and I. They perfectly captured our experience playing the game where the only things you take seriously are the bonds between you and your friends.
